Knowing When To Cut And Run

Sometimes, you just have to admit defeat.

I really, really wanted to do an Art Journal for the It's a Creative World A-Z journal project. I got as far as the cover (which you've seen) and the journaling for my "A" entry. Then I ground to a total halt, completely devoid of further inspiration. After staring at a half blank page for 2 weeks I decided last night that it was time to admit defeat. I am not an artist. I'm a scrapbooker. Sometimes you have to do what you do (if not best, then at least comfortably).
So, here's the beginning of the all new scrapbook version of my A-Z journal. It's going to be a 6x12 album, so all the pages will be double spread (12x12 folded). A is for (not an) Art journal, and for Admitting Defeat. Well, we can't all be good at everything, can we?

On the rest of the crafting front, my second bunny (who is to be called Lucy, as named in advanced by the little girl who will own her). She doesn't have quite so many issues as Minnie (no cankles for a start) and she's sporting a nifty pair of red shoes which I'm quite proud of (no pattern for those, just an adaptation of the new leg patter I tried).

On this afternoon/evenings agenda, I'm hoping to get some sewing done. It's been a while, and my hands are too cramped up from knitting bunnies to do any more wool craft!

These are looking really good Marie. I'm impressed!

I had a convsersation (argument) a while back about "quitting" - I say there is no shame in making a tactical retreat to regroup and refocus.

Thank god you gave up the arty stuff, I was worried with everything else, you were going to have to give up sleep to fit it all in!

Love Lucy, especially her red shoes!!

Just catching up on your blog, Marie. I admit defeat on many things. My friends fondly call me Deanna Stewart, but unlike Martha claims, I am just not good at everything. That's ok with me. ;)

And I LOVE your bunny!!! Makes me wish I knew how to knit/crochet.
