A Work In Progress

So.

I know I haven't been around the Cookieblog much of late. To be honest, I'm working on something. For once my work in progress doesn't involve yarn, or fabric, or pretty paper, or cupcakes or cookies. It involves working on getting my overgrown lardy arse to be not so overgrown and lardy!

There comes a point when I figure I can't keep blaming the fact that I'm overweight on the fact that I just had a baby.....especially seeing as the last baby is 3 and a half now. My husband has completely put me to shame of late. In the last three years he's lost almost 7 stone (98lbs) whilst I've sat back and gained over 30lbs watching him do it.

It's time for action (that is the word of the year after all) and action is what I've been taking. We've been "eating clean" round here for over a fortnight - all wholewheat foods, high protein, low sugar, no junk food and training like a whirling dervish 6 days a week (weight training, cardio, karate classes, swimming). It's starting to pay off now though and I've manage to lose 8lbs in a little over 2 weeks.

So, given that I'm practically permanently camped out at the gym most evenings and the rest of the time I'm either working or doing the stuff that needs doing at home I think there'll likely be a hiatus in Cookieblog posting until I can get down to something approximating my goal weight. I have taken some before pictures so when my 12 week programme is up I might be brave enough to post some before and afters so I can show you what I've accomplished.

Back soon.

Sounds like you are off to a great start! Good luck with the program. It is hard to find time to craft and play, and workout--I wish that I could scrapbook while jogging on the treadmill, but I haven't worked that out yet :)

WOW! Well done, sounds like you're making great progress. Losing weight is so hard I have huge amounts of respect for people who can stick to it. Keep going!

Oh wow - good for you. The gym? You are my hero, I could never manage it. If I'm really really driven I manage to walk the dog. Best of all luck xxx
